Giving

Charities

Please take a look below at this year’s charities. We aim to support three charities a year at St Richard’s which are chosen by the congregation. We try to support one local, one national, and one international charity to maximise our impact on the wider community.

Open House is continuously supported by St Richard’s as they are a within our Parish, and do such amazing and important work for our town and the surrounding area.

In addition to these, we have an annual collection event for Christian Aid, and a Christingle service for The Children’s Society.

Look out on our events list for news of our charity focused ‘Away Giving’ services where we hear in more detail about the work of these charities, and organise a collection for them.

Our nominated charities are below, please take a look at some of the causes we have chosen to support

Giving to St Richard’s Church.

For those of you who give regularly to the Church, thank you. The funds we receive from you help us to remain a positive influence in our local community as we endeavour to spread the word of God and support the people and causes of not only our Parish, but also further afield. The Church cannot function without these contributions and truly appreciate your efforts of both fundraising and regular giving.

There are several ways to give to the Church and support us further as outlined below –

Parish Giving Scheme (PGS)

This allows you to pay monthly or quarterly by Direct Debit. The big benefit to this way of giving is that, if you are a tax payer and complete the gift aid declaration, the Church is able to reclaim the tax – giving an up to 40% uplift to the value of your giving at no cost to you. The payments are also covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee scheme and can be adjusted easily by contacting the Parish Giving Scheme.

The Church PGS reference details you need for your form are:

Church / Parish Name: Church/Parish of St Richard

PGS Parish Code: 100610177

Town: Three Bridges

Diocese: Chichester

There are leaflets and forms about the Parish Giving Scheme at the back of the church. Alternatively you can phone our Treasurer, Tony Davies on 07932 058011. You should be aware that you can only give monthly or quarterly though this method.

Standing Orders

Standing orders give the bank an instruction to pay an exact amount from your account to another account regularly. With a standing order, you’re in full control. You can start or stop them or change the payment amount whenever you want – just contact your bank.

For those wanting to set up a standing order every week/month/quarter, here are the details you need:

Account Number: 20775258 Sort Code: 20-49-76 Account Name: St Richards Church, Three Bridges

Regular Giving Envelopes

You will see some members of the church use envelopes to give regularly. If you want further details of this scheme please speak to the Treasurer. This method of giving means the Church has to process more cash which, as outlined above, is becoming increasingly difficult to manage.

Just visiting?

Please feel free to leave a cash or cheque donation in the donations plate. If you aren’t accustomed to carrying cash, most banking apps allow you to make one off payments. If you prefer to give in this way, you can use these bank account details

Account Number: 20775258 Sort Code: 20-49-76 Account Name: St Richards Church, Three Bridges

It would be helpful if you could add the reference “donation” to any payments made via online banking or banking apps.

Any queries, please feel free to call or speak to the Treasurer in confidence

Regards

Anthony Davies Hon Treasurer
